A desktop pet generator turns a chosen image into a character that lives on a computer desktop. mygoober is an AI desktop pet generator for Windows 10 and Windows 11: upload a pet or person photo in the client, choose an available style, and generate a personal Goober with idle, typing, petting, and dragging actions.
From a photo to a character on your desktop
A familiar face makes a desktop character feel personal. You might begin with a cat you photograph every day, a favorite dog portrait, or a picture of yourself. mygoober uses that image as the starting point for a Goober, then gives you a choice of visual styles. The result is a character you can interact with while using Windows.
The creation workflow happens in the downloadable mygoober client. This website explains the choices and links to the client; it does not provide a browser upload or generation service. Before starting a custom character, open the app and check the current generation options and Coin cost. If you want to explore the experience first, choose an existing character from the free Goober library.
Three steps to generate your Goober
1. Upload a photo in the Windows client
Download mygoober, open the client on Windows 10 or Windows 11, and use its custom character creation workflow to upload a photo. Choose a pet image or a portrait that gives you a clear view of the intended subject. One recognizable subject is a useful starting point because it makes your own visual review easier later.
As practical preparation, compare a few pictures before choosing one. Look for visible facial features, recognizable markings, and a pose you enjoy. A cluttered background or another animal overlapping the subject can make it harder to judge what you want the character to retain. These are selection suggestions, not published app requirements or a promise about the generated result.
2. Choose the visual style
Pet photos offer realistic, 3D, and anime styles. Portraits offer paper cutout, 3D chibi, and anime chibi styles. Start with the overall feeling you want on your desktop: close to the original animal, soft and sculpted, or drawn and expressive. The available choices depend on whether you are creating from a pet photo or a person photo.
Style selection is about appearance. A realistic animal and an anime animal can serve the same everyday role as a desktop companion. You do not need to choose a style because it sounds more technical. Use the visual examples as a reference, then consider which look you will enjoy seeing beside your normal work.
3. Generate and review before confirmation
Custom generation uses account Coins. Top up your account before using the generation service, and read the amount shown in the app before each action. Creating characters and animations uses Coins, so assess the cost at the point of use instead of assuming a single fixed price for every step.
Review the custom Goober's main image carefully before confirming it. Check the silhouette, face, markings, and chosen visual style. Once the main image is confirmed, the appearance is locked. If you want a different look afterward, create another custom Goober. A careful review is therefore part of the workflow, not an optional last glance.
Compare the styles by what you want to see
Pet styles: realistic, 3D, and anime
Realistic emphasizes natural fur and lifelike texture. It is a useful direction to explore when your pet's familiar appearance is central to the idea. The 3D style offers a soft, sculpted finish, while anime uses clean lines and soft anime colors. Think about which treatment suits the photo and your taste, rather than expecting any style to reproduce every detail exactly.
Portrait styles: paper cutout and chibi
Paper cutout presents a portrait with a white paper border. The 3D chibi option uses a cute three-dimensional character with chibi proportions; anime chibi uses a drawn character with those proportions. A portrait-based Goober can be a playful version of yourself or someone whose image you have permission to use. Pick a photo and style with that person in mind.
What happens after generation?
A Goober is more than an image placed in a folder. mygoober gives each character four interactive actions: idle, typing, petting, and dragging. Idle keeps the Goober nearby. The typing action joins in as you use the keyboard. Petting lets you give the character a pat and see a response, while dragging lets you move it to another place on the desktop.
Consider where the character will fit into your actual routine. Place your Goober somewhere you can enjoy seeing it during a writing session, study period, or break. Dragging gives you a simple way to reposition the character as your workspace changes. The visual companionship comes from the character and its actions; the published features described here do not include a conversational AI assistant.
Choose a library character or create something personal
The free Goober library and custom generation are two different starting points. A library character is useful when you want to pick an existing look and begin exploring the app. Custom generation is for a specific pet or portrait you want to turn into your own character. You can switch between library characters, while a confirmed custom main image remains locked.
Choose the library when the character's overall look matters more than a particular photo. Choose custom generation when recognizable details or a personal connection are the reason for creating a Goober. This distinction also makes planning easier: browsing the free library does not establish that custom photo generation is free.
